About New Beginnings
New Beginnings is a place where peers support one another with encouragement while promoting values of recovery.
The New Beginnings Peer Recovery Support Center is a recovery-oriented sanctuary anchored in the heart of downtown Lawrence. The center opened in April 2015 and has been thriving ever since. Anyone in recovery or family and friends who support recovery are welcome to attend.
New Beginnings maintains a member-driven schedule Sunday through Friday which includes a variety of recovery-related workshops, trainings, services, meetings, and social events. Members strive to provide a safe and welcoming environment where shared experience leads to empowerment, respect, and a sense of wellness.
Hosted by Spectrum Health Systems, New Beginnings succeeds because it offers a place to gather, free of stigma and judgement, that supports members in pursuing their own personal growth as they work toward becoming active participants in their community.
New Beginnings is funded by the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS)
